Anime

Just starting this anime page. I am the president of the anime club in my school at Montevallo University.

I love tons of them, but I specialize in the uncommonly known ones. Here's a list of the animes I own so far:

Appleseed (movie), Cowboy Bebop (movie), Chronicles of Riddick Dark Fury (movie), Chrono Crusade (full series), DNAngel 1-2.hack//sign (only have VOL. 2), Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (movie), Final Fantasy Unlimited (full series), Full Metal Alchemist (Volume 1 and movie), Generator Gawl, Grenadier (Vol 3), Gundom Seed, Gundom Wing (and Endless Waltz movie), Gravitation (full series plus the OAV), Howl's Moving Castle (movie), InuYasha (1st season)(and movies 1-4), Jing: King of the Bandits (full series), Kyo Kara Maoh! (first 5 dvds), Martian Successor Nadesico (full series), Princess Mononoke (movie), Peace Maker (full series), Saiyuki (movie and first 17 episodes), Saiyuki Reloaded Gunlock, Trigun, Trinity Blood, VanDread, and Wolf's Rain (full series).

*The ones without anything in () mean that I only have the first DVD of it.

Future hopefuls (that are currently in stores) to add to the collection (in order of priority): DNAngel VOL. 3, Saiyuki double barol VOL: 3, .hack//sign VOL 1 or 3

Hige from Wolf's Rain.  My favorate character and the one I end up being on all the anime quizes.  He's loveble, simi-take charge, always hungry, and often horny.  He's the one I'm going as for Anime Weekend Atlanta.

WOLF'S RAIN

Wolf's Rain was what got me into anime (a friend from church and school mentioned it since she knew I had a thing for wolves).  It' is an awesome short series (I think like 28 episodes) with a very serious attidude, about wolves that walk through the world appearing to be humans; using power of mind to hide their true form from people since humans thought that they killed them all off 200 years ago.  It's about the trials they go through and the friends and enemies they meet on their way to Paridise; a relm that can only be opened by wolves.  this however will also bring about the end of the world.  It's really more complicated than that so I think you should check it out for yourself.

VanDread

Anime about ancestors of ships from the dieing earth. The men and the women ended up on different planets and the race kept on it's existance by gene combinations and cloning.  After several generations, the men knew nothing of women (not even that they were the same species) other that the raiding partys that occationally attacted their ships and planet; never even seeing what their enemy looked like.  Well this is about men who got captured by the women.  Cultures and personalities clash, a new common enemy is reveled, and strange new feelings are found.

Peace Maker

Story about a 15 year old and his brother's despirate atempts to keep him safe after their parents were murdered by an unknown (but easy for the viewer to guess) samuri. To his worried brother's dismay, Tetsu joins up with the Shinsengumi to become stronger and be able to kill his parent's assasin. Unfortunately, becomming a swordsman was not all he thought it would be and he ends up being a page; constantly getting in trouble. Very funny with a touch of occational darkness and lots of blood.

Gravitation

I saw this at Best Buy for a long time and told myself "if it ever got down to $5, I would get it."  Well $6.99 was close enough. From then on I was hooked and if anyone would watch it with me for at least 2-3 full episodes, they would have to see the rest too.

Great anime about love, rock-stardom, comedy, and self-realization. Only thing about it,... the 2 main charaters (guys) are in love/infatuated/intreged with eachother. Not fruity gay, but more like finally finding your solemate and it happen to be a guy. It's both serious (murder, deceit, hoplessness and hatefull acts) and silly with Shuichi over reacting to everything and dressing up in different costumes that range from dressing like a dog to lugage to a woman to an oversized battery (which earned him the name "cosplay boy"). Over all, it's a wonderfully addictive anime; and NO, watching and loving it does not mean you're gay (unless you start thinking about the male characters toooo much) (which eventually happens anyway if get deep enough into anime).

Kyo Kara Maoh!

It's a story about a highschool student named Yuri that one day get's dragged into the bathroom by some bullies who try to give him a swirlly. Next thing he knows he is transported into another world where he is taken to the castle and is crowned the Demon King. Not weird enough?... Well, after having his human mother insulted, he strikes the guy and buy some twisted antcient rule, he is now betrothed to the guy. All sorts of other weird things go on as he is unwillingly transported back and forth between worlds. An absolutely hillarious anime.

Saiyuki

An alternate reality of the modern world were humans and demons once lived in harmony with eachother. That is until the demons banded together to kill and haunt mankind. Now it's up to 4 unlikely people who are constantly on eachother's nerves. Sanzo: a gun-toting buddist priest that smokes, drinks, swears, eats meat, kills, and is totaly lacking in patience. A demon named Goku: the child-like monkey god, ever wining, with a bottomless pit for a stomach. Gojo: a half-demon that's a total letch, not to mention that he's a water sprite that can't even swim. And Hakki: a soft spoken, ever smiling, peaceful guy that has a little pet dragon that can turn into a Jeep; once human but now a demon after being covered in the blood of 1000 demons. He's the peace keeper of the bunch, yet he carries a dark secret. All together they face hords of demon assasins on their way to India to stop the reanimation of a ancient demon warlord. That is if they don't kill eachother first.
